What is expected of members

TUAKAU PONY CLUB HELPER GROUPS INFORMATION

To share the usual jobs of setting up, course-building and the help out tasks like officials’ lunches, gear checks, gate stewarding etc, we divide all member families in to task groups for our season of shows.

All members are expected to assist and are issued with the list of show dates and the group they are in at the beginning of the season.

Our biggest event is the ODE which this year will be a 2 Day Event (early November)

We intend that:

-         Helper groups will be advised of the date(s) they are expected to help at as soon as the groups are set up.

-         The Event Co-Ordinator will remind each group that is involved nearer the day and advise working bee times etc.

-         The Group(s) will be expected to provide the key help for the event concerned ie to set up under guidance of course builder &/or Event Co-Ordinator and to provide help on the competition day. We are usually able to use some groups for set up and other groups on the competition day.

-         No one individual will have to plan, decide or do anything alarming – just be there to help. If you are unable to attend a task you must swap with someone else and advise a committee member so we are able to keep note of the change.

-         Non attendance and no replacement results in a fine of $20 per date. If 2 working bees are missed your membership will be discussed at the next Committee meeting and may be in jeopardy.

Possibly Pony Club asks more of it’s members than other sporting codes. However, please bear in mind that every committee member and office holder is a true volunteer. The willing assistance of you, the members, and your families is a real incentive for such people to continue their support.
